WREN is Hiring!
We are currently looking for either a full time Program Coordinator or full time Education Program Director…depending on experience.
Our Education Director provides education program leadership including: managing a variety of
environmental education programming geared to reaching youth, adults, and families, supervising
the work of staff and community members/volunteers, that support WREN’s mission and objectives.
This position will develop programs that share the science and practices under-girding the ‘How and
Why’ of preserving the critical plant and animal ecosystems that are necessary for the survival of
native species, particularly those defined as threatened and endangered. Successful applicants will
be self-motivated, inspired to make a difference in their professional community, and bring
substantial experience in environmental education, working with grants, and running a non-profit.
We are looking for someone who shares our passion for community education on local landscapes,
especially the wetlands and oak uplands which are an important community resource.
Our Program Coordinator manages and leads the many programs we provide to educate schoolchildren and adults about threatened and endangered species in Wetlands and Oak Prairie/Savanna ecosystems. They teach a variety of programs, both indoors and outdoors, providing classroom programs and field trips, and community programs for adults and families. The program coordinator recruits and trains community volunteers in supporting programs.
