Privacy Policy
The Willamette Resources and Educational Network (WREN) is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to our website, as well as that of our members, donors, and students. WREN has established this privacy policy to explain what information we collect through this website and how it is used.
In this policy, "WREN" refers to WREN staff, board members, interns, volunteers, and consultants, all of whom are bound by law or contract to keep information they receive as part of their assistance to WREN confidential.
WREN does not sell or rent donor information under any circumstances, and we do not share information without prior consent except as compelled by law.
Information gathered on WREN’s site is used to continually improve upon the performance and the appeal of the website. We record statistical data such as your computer’s IP address (a unique number that identifies your computer’s network location), browser, operating system, number of page hits, and if accessed from a search engine, what search term was used. Traffic reports do not store any personal information.
When you order from the WREN online store, we collect your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, and credit card information. WREN will not store credit card numbers. When you enter your credit card information into a form, it is sent via a secure, encrypted connection to our credit card processing service.
When you become a WREN member, donor, or sponsor, we collect and store your name, mailing address, phone number, and email address. WREN allows you the option of remaining an anonymous donor.
When you sign up for an electronic newsletter, or ask to be included on the West Eugene Wetlands calendar email list, WREN collects and stores your name and email address, or for a mailed newsletter, your name and mailing address.
WREN has chosen an opt-in policy. We will not send email or general mail without your initial consent. However, we may mail the quarterly Wetland Word newsletter without initial request to spread the word about events happening in the wetlands. In any case, you may opt out of receiving email or mail at anytime by contacting us at wew@wewetlands.org or 751 S Danebo Ave Eugene OR, 97402.
Cookies
A cookie is a small piece of information sent by a website that is saved on your hard disk by your computer's browser. It holds information a site may need to interact with you and personalize your experience.
WREN does not use “invasive” cookies, only session cookies, which begin when you purchase an item on the online store. These exist only for as long as your browser remains open. We use session cookies to maintain information we need to have in order for you to add items to your shopping cart on the WREN store. For example, the session ID cookie that we ask your browser to hold retains the items from your shopping cart. Without the session ID cookie, you would not be able to add items to your cart and carry them to checkout. Cookies can be used by a website to recognize you, but WREN does not store personal information in the cookies.
Is My Information Secure?
WREN is committed to doing its best to maintain the security of information we collect. To try to prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place the appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
Children
WREN’s policy is to not collect personal information on anyone age 13 or younger, in accordance with the Children’s online Privacy Protection Act of 2000.
WREN reserves the right to change this privacy policy and post the changes on our website. For any questions or comments on our privacy policy, please email info@wewetlands.org or send mail to WREN 751 S Danebo Ave Eugene OR, 97402.
